hands up *clap* *clap* hands down
My laptop is back, yay! Full of bloatware and none of the things that were on there. They really couldn't replace the motherboard without wiping the hard drive? I'm glad it's back, though.

I found the 1001 books to read before you die spreadsheet and was shocked to find I've only read 20. I'm going to work my way up from the bottom. Thanks, NYPL!

That list has so many books I started to read then ended up really hating and did not finish!! Striking since I usually finish what I start reading even if I don't like it.

Do you count the unfinished books?

No, I don't do this list at all. If it has so many books that I disliked, why should I bother with the rest?

I've started the Hugo and Nebula lists, but those also have their fair share of disappointments. What I really like (though I've neglected it lately with all the stuff going on) is the SF Masterworks list. I like it so much I'm thinking of reading the Fantasy Masterworks list when I'm done, even though I seldom read fantasy.

But as for non-genre fiction, I don't really know of a good list. Maybe my tastes are atypical. *shrug*
