I'm not too particularly keen on awards shows as I think that a movie or book or album should speak for itself and not need an award to prove how awesome it is.

It's great when people thank their assistants because honestly, most people don't and most people should that don't because people would not be able to function without all of the help they get. Rubbish, really, that people can't spend a few words to say thank you to the people who help them every day, many hours a day.

It also seems that most attempts to amuse just end up being tedious and stretching out what should not be stretched out.
