uk - pricing beer by 100ml?
I just read this in the sun:

BEER prices have plunged to as low as 11p per 100ml

I needed context so I picked up a standard bottle of Pyramid Hefe Weizen and noted it was 355ml. So... about a third of the standard bottle? That's about three sips worth.

Why such a strange quantity to price?

Mark? UK pub crawlers?

it's an even 100ml is it not?

I drink Pyramid Hefe religiously... and it's been on sale for a while at ralphs haha.

well sure it's an even 100ml - but 100ml is seriously like two or three sips.

pyramid is my favourite.

It might be because beer is often available in different sized cans or bottles. Although the pint is fairly ubiquitous at the pub, of course the pint itself was surpassed I think by SI units. Although whether it has to be quoted as such I'm not sure. I was never a big frequenter of pubs, but it seems like jimwilliams is.
