Gene Simmons, who apparently was born Chaim Witz in the beautiful city of Haifa (one of my favourite cities in Israel) sent a recorded message of support to Ron Weinreich, a soldier who was seriously wounded in combat. Simmons referred to Weinreich as a real hero and at one point in hebrew said his given name and that he was from Haifa.

I call that a kiddush Hashem.
