DOOL Steve Kayla Cheers!

Elderly Drivers

for the NYC BLOGGER / RNN Question of the Day:

Should Elderly Drivers Be Retested?

Absolutely. Seinfeld did a bit about how few elderly people have a look when they are backing out - joking about how they have already reached this stage in their life, so why not just get out there as quickly as possible, full steam ahead, damn the torpedos, or incoming traffic. To a certain extent this seems absurdly true. I also find it particularly aggravating to be driving behind someone who is going about half the speed limit, when the other lanes are inaccesible due to everyone else going ten miles over the speed limit.

I almost wonder how many accidents are caused by elderly drivers who have significantly worsened in terms of vision / recollection of certain traffic laws.

George Gershwin wrote "Rhapsody in Blue" when he was twenty-five.

I'm about to turn twenty-six. I have written a play which has not (yet) been produced, and haven't yet finished a novel.

Hunter S. Thompson had finished his first novel at the age of 22. Meanwhile, I was whinging about not finding the right person for me.

Everything Is Illuminated, written by Jonathan Saffran Foer, was a New York Times bestselling book. He's about my age, maybe a bit younger.

Fuck. I don't even own a pair of Doc Marten's.
