Well it is indeed that time of the year again - Rosh Hashana. Almost a note of sadness because last year, a week before Rosh Hashana these creeps decided to abuse a few airplanes and instead of transporting people, they killed a few thousand. Way to spread hate.
Yesterday I spent a considerable amount of time looking for my plane tickets, almost going as far as spending $100 for the airline to send 2.00 worth of paper (a replacement ticket) Which, thankfully, wasn't necessary as I eventually found the tickets.
Tonight I'm going to the Marriot, where I'm going to be spending the entirety of Rosh Hashana. No worries about having to walk long distances to shul. I'm even going to take Godfrey Bear of course. He's adorable. Not quite as adorable as Julia but that is to be expected.
That being said, the next journal update one can anticipate will be on Sunday night after this bout of yom tov has passed us and we are back in the dullards that is normal everyday life - that is, until Yom Kippur. Yom kippur being of course, the day of atonement, but also being "Yom Kippurim", a day that is like Purim. Purim, believe it or not, is actually more sacred than Yom Kippur - as one who gets ridiculously drunk yet is still able to not sin is considerably more commendable than one who is able to stand in a shul all day and do the same. Yeppers.
I watched the end part of When Harry Met Sally a little while ago, the part where the character of Harry said, "When you realize that you want to spend the rest of your life with someone, you want the rest of your life to begin as soon as possible." A tearjerking scene if ever there was one. One day I hope to have made a scene that makes a lot of people react in a similar fashion. And have it be after a really funny scene. With good music.
L'shana tova to all. G-d bless Tiny Tim.
